Breeder Member Rules

  • You must breed pedigreed cats and your cattery must have all the following:

    —A valid email address.

    —A valid website or Facebook Page with contact information matching your ABCD directory submission.

    —Be registered and in good standing with at least one major cat association.

    —Not be engaged in the purposeful breeding of mixed-breed, nonregisterable cats (this excludes allowable outcrosses).

    —Not be engaged in the purposeful breeding of exotic (wild) animals for pet sale, except those used to produce accepted hybrids.

    —Have never been convicted of animal-related crimes (ie. cruelty or endangerment).

  • A major cat association is one that:

    1. Screens, accepts, and maintains standards for a selected group of cat breeds

    2. Registers and maintains pedigrees of cats in these accepted breeds

    3. Licenses and holds shows when possible.

  • Rules and Operations

    The All Breed Cat Directory is not a marketplace but is designed for reputable breeders to advertise using a composite profile that includes their website, social media, and contact information.

    —Each breeder controls their profile and may share a bio, health guarantee, contract information, and current and upcoming kittens. They can also share their entire profile with other sites.

    —Direct communication between breeders and buyers is provided with the option to connect via email or phone. We do not control or intervene with breeder-to-buyer connections.

    —We will investigate reports of unscrupulous activity and remove the breeder at our discretion if there is evidence of cruelty, endangerment, harassment, or backyard breeding.

    —Pricing is simple, reasonable, and equal for all breeders. Listings are renewable in December for the following year and prorated for those who join mid-year.

    —Profiles rotate randomly and are searchable by breed and location.

    —Anonymous profiles, kitten mills, and pet stores are prohibited.
