Innovation Through Experience and Creativity For a Stronger, Safer Breeder/Owner Community

In 2016, our first attempt to purchase a Savannah kitten ended in heartbreak due to a breeder scam. Despite extensive research and conversations, it was a painful and expensive lesson. The second time, I thought I did everything right, but our new kitten, Luna, was diagnosed with fatal Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) just weeks after her arrival. Thankfully, Luna survived, and the situation with our breeder resolved positively, though many are not as fortunate.

After interviewing hundreds of breeders and helping buyers recover from scams, I realized the need for a trusted platform where buyers could connect with ethical, registered breeders and breeders could share their cattery and expertise.

Luna became the first cat cured of 100% fatal FIP using the antiviral GS-441524. Her journey captivated the feline community, with thousands following her story as she defied the odds and grew into a healthy eight-year-old survivor. Inspired, I founded Help for FIP®, an organization dedicated to education, awareness, and treatment guidance for all cats facing FIP. Breeders trust our expertise and contact us when they suspect FIP in a kitten or cat they’ve bred.

As if FIP and a breeder scam weren’t enough, our two-year-old Savannah, Ares, is battling intestinal and renal lymphoma—a disease I’ve learned has genetic links and am studying further. Ares is nine months in remission following a six-month CHOP chemotherapy protocol.

These experiences motivated me to create SAVANNAHGANS®, a magazine and website for Savannah Cat enthusiasts where breeders and buyers connect, read articles, and celebrate this remarkable breed.

I’m excited to learn about other amazing breeds and help you safely find your next furry family member!
